Weight Loss-at it again

Weight Loss-at it again

So those of you that have been following me know that I had lost 40 lbs. over 4 years ago now.
Wow, that seems so long ago.

I can happily declare that I have been able to keep that weight off with little effort. However, I have come around to realising that I have not reached my goal entirely.

I still want to lose 20-25 more lbs.

How did I come to that number? That is the weight that I felt the best in my ‘skin’.

Medically my numbers are great, my blood pressure has normalised after a slight increase after having my son, and my waist measurement is below 35 inches, taking me out of the heart disease risk category. Thanks to my initial weight loss. Those goals were attained.

Despite this, I still feel a ‘heaviness in my body’.
I want to increase my flexibility and my movement.
I also want to protect my joints from any extra impact the extra weight I carry can cause, as I see this my Bowen practice on a regular basis.
Being lighter will assist me with these goals.
My stamina has greatly improved, but I want to see if I can really top it up.

So I have decided to restart my weight loss journey!
For me.

I want to enhance all areas in my life. I know improving my physical health and well-being will also positively impact my family life, my relationships and even my practice!

All changes that you make that bring you to a point of fulfilment and satisfaction will ripple out to all the other areas of your life.

Your health issues may be a result of another seemingly ‘non related’ issue. Other people in your life can affect your relationship with food. For eg. if you are feeling sad or underappreciated, you could be filling your void with food.

As I feel I have not finished my weight loss/well being journey with my body, I will be examining all areas of my life to see how it is being reflected in my food choices, movement choices etc.

A good way to do this is to write out a list of your current struggles. Is there a similar pattern? Many times we do not see a root level issue until we examine things all together.

Work on the areas that you find you are not satisfied in. Need more time to yourself-make that happen. Missing reading your favourite author-go do that. Wanting to connect to an old friend-call them up.

These actions will free up the energy needed, or change the energy prioritising yourself so that you can make the changes needed in your health.

Do I feel resistant to this? YES.
Have I tried to restart this year? YES.

Am I going to let my doubts, fears and unwillingness stop me from changing.
NO.

Which is why I am getting this in writing and putting it out there.
